John Haynes, Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Haynes received a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of British Columbia, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford. After two decades in the STM publishing industry, including senior positions with Institute of Physics Publishing and Royal Society of Chemistry, he joined American Institute of Physics in 2009 as vice president, publishing. In 2013, Dr Haynes was appointed chief executive officer of the newly established AIP Publishing.
Sara Girard, Director, Marketing & Communications
Sara Girard joined AIP Publishing in 2017 as Director, Marketing & Communications, responsible for corporate communications, brand, customer insights, and marketing strategy. Sara was previously Head of Marketing at Nature Publishing Group where she built and managed a global marketing organization to meet transformational business challenges, and a Senior Associate at KWF Consulting. Sara has a MA from the University of Pittsburgh, a BA from St. Lawrence University, and serves as Chair of the Communications Working Group for CHORUS.
Roy Levenson, Chief Financial Officer
AIP Publishing appointed Roy Levenson as Chief Financial Officer in 2013. In this role, Roy leads our finance, treasury, and accounting services. He is also responsible for customer service, fulfillment, and order processing. Roy brings with him a deep knowledge and understanding of strategic finance in the publishing and media environments. He holds both a Bachelor's and a Masters in Business Administration from Hofstra University. Prior to joining AIP Publishing, Roy held increasingly senior level financial leadership positions including with Barnes & Noble and Time Warner.
Kevin Steiner, Head of Global Sales and Advertising
Kevin Steiner is Head of Global Sales and Advertising for AIP Publishing Inc. He is responsible for the sale of AIP Publishing's products and services into the global academic, corporate and government library markets. With 15 years sales and marketing experience in the STM industry, Kevin has worked for one of world’s largest scientific publishers Springer Science and Business Media. And before coming to AIP Publishing for one of world’s largest society publishers, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
Kevin has a wealth of international experience including living in Taiwan while handling the Asia Pacific Region for the former Kluwer Academic Publishers, having a global responsibility for corporate and government sales at ACM, and most recently in his position of regional sales manager for EMEA at AIP Publishing prior to his recent promotion. In his spare time, Kevin trains for and competes annually in the Boston Marathon and raises his three daughters with his wife of 14 years.
Madelene Sutton, Director of Human Resources
Madelene Sutton joined AIP Publishing as Director, Human Resources in 2014. In this role, Madelene leads the planning and execution of various HR disciplines, practices, and services aimed at creating a high-performing results-oriented culture through employee engagement, organizational capability, and effectiveness. Madelene has an MS in Human Resources Management from Fordham University and a BA from Bernard Baruch College. Prior to joining AIP Publishing, Madelene was the Senior Director, Global Human Resources at the Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd and held the position of Director, Human Resources at The Harry Fox Agency, Inc.
Jason Wilde, Chief Publishing Officer
Dr. Wilde joined the AIP Publishing in 2014 as their Chief Publishing Officer. He is responsible for the vision, strategic direction, leadership, management and growth of AIP Publishing's publications portfolio and the ongoing development of its publishing platform – Scitation.
Prior to joining AIP Publishing, Dr Wilde spent the previous 13 years with Nature Publishing Group, the last 5 as Director, Business Development, launching the Nature-branded physical sciences research journals; their broad based Open Access publications (Nature Communications, Scientific Reports and Scientific Data); as well as the ongoing development of the nature.com publishing platform and its development of tools and services for researchers.
Dr. Wilde gained a Ph.D. in Molecular Electronics from Durham University, UK and a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Dundee University, UK.
